Panhandle Cleaning and Restoration Invests in High-Tech Equipment
Wheeling, WV – Panhandle Cleaning and Restoration is proud to announce that they have added three new, high-tech tools to their equipment fleet – a Thermal Imaging Camera, a Trailer-mounted Desiccant Dehumidifier, and a Dry Ice Blaster. These tools, along with the training in their use that Panhandle has invested in for their technicians, will enable them to provide effective solutions to some of the most difficult cleaning and restoration problems. Because restoration is an art that requires highly-trained technicians using state-of-the-art technology, these investments will help Panhandle Cleaning and Restoration continue to supply the entire Ohio Valley and the state of West Virginia with the best cleaning and restoration services available. The Thermal Imaging Camera locates water sources more quickly and less expensively than conventional techniques. Without the camera, just finding water sources behind walls or in other in hard-to-reach locations requires demolition, which adds to both the repair time and project expense. The camera also saves time during water-source location because it enables technicians to inspect roofs and other hard-to-reach areas from the ground. |

The Trailer-mounted Desiccant Dehumidifier, which can reduce humidity in a structure to 3% in just 24 hours, dries large commercial structures efficiently and quickly enough to inhibit mold and secondary problems associated with moisture. It can also be used to certify newly-built structures as dry, which enables owners to realize up to a 15% reduction in insurance rates. This high-tech dehumidifier also enables Panhandle to dry, save, and re-use more materials from water-damaged structures than they could with conventional drying techniques. Without having to demolish and replace construction elements that otherwise would have been unusable, customers enjoy both savings in materials and faster re-occupancy of their homes or businesses. The Dry Ice Blaster quickly cleans wood, brick, stone, metal and other surfaces that are covered with contaminates such as soot, mold, or other unwanted coatings. This type of cleaning restores wood framing in churches and Victorian homes and buildings and makes it look new. It saves time and money because it is much faster than sanding surfaces, can reach areas that conventional sanding cannot, and it leaves behind no residue to be picked up because the dry ice simply evaporates, leaving no mess. Because it is also water-free, when the Dry Ice Blaster is used to clean electrical equipment, the equipment can be up and running immediately after cleaning rather than requiring down time to dry. These tools have already proven useful in several situations. First, a local school had a problem with carpeting getting wet every time there was a hard rain. Using the camera, Panhandle found the source, a leaking joint. They were able to find and fix the problem in five minutes, when three other inspectors spent considerably more time and were unable to even find the problem. Second, the dehumidifier helped them dry out – in a matter of just days – 23 rooms of a hotel, that were booked to capacity and otherwise would have been unusable for an entire month. After purchasing the Dry Ice Blaster, Panhandle Cleaning and Restoration flew a certified trainer from Boston to Wheeling to train eight of their technicians to use the equipment. Investing in this type of industry-leading technology and training in its proper use – along with their devotion to providing quality work with an eye toward details – is what makes Panhandle a leader in the cleaning and restoration field and enables them to handle any loss, no matter the size. Panhandle Cleaning and Restoration, with offices headquartered in Wheeling, WV, was established in 1977 and serves as the region’s premiere cleaning and restoration business. They employ over 40 local trade professionals and are considered an industry leader by their peers. In September 2004, Panhandle was recognized in Remodeling Quarterly magazine. # # #
